A majority of Democrats (55%) say Israel should have tried to find a
diplomatic solution first, a view shared by just 27% of Republicans.
There are three very large problems with this report: (1) the question erroneously assumes that Israel did not attempt to find a "diplomatic" resolution; (2) the question erroneously limits its definition of "diplomacy" to talking through diplomats rather than including military force as one of many potential actions that constitute diplomacy; and (3) there is an utter cluelessness on the part of 55% of Democrats and 27% of Republicans who obviously assume that Hamas is interested in conducting diplomatic talks with Israel.
